Pastor’s Notes 12-25-11

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! What a privilege to worship our Savior today as we celebrate His birth! I know that after all the hustle and bustle of the season we may arrive at church on Christmas morning kind of frazzled and sometimes even tempted to wonder if it is worth it all. I am sure that Jesus may have been tempted to ask the same question during His years on earth, but He never questioned what He was doing and the mission He was on. He was born to die as an atoning sacrifice for the entire human race. He knew that it would all be worth the price He paid when men, women and children accepted His gift of salvation.

Today as we worship the Lord our focus will be on Jesus, the Hope of a Savior. Right now our attention is on the birth of Jesus, the event that marks the most dramatic change in the history of the world. There was only one reason that “God became flesh and lived among men,” Jesus came so that He could die in order to be a Savior for all people of all generations. So as we celebrate, remember that Jesus came so that He could pay the ransom for you and for me. He bought us and set us free from the wages of sin, which is death. Christmas Brings Hope and it comes in a Savior, Christ the Lord!!!

Blessings!
